Superintendent's Message

school buses

Dear Williamstown Families,

It’s Spring!  This wasn’t apparent by the snow that followed, but is evident now by the typical rainy weather we are experiencing.  I know our softball and baseball teams want to be on the field, our track teams are eager to compete, and our elementary students are ready to enjoy recess in warmer weather.

The first thing coming up in April is the much needed Spring Break.  Students and staff work very hard throughout the year and deserve some time away to spend with friends and family.  I encourage all to take this time to rest and refocus so you will return recharged and ready to tackle the end of the year.

This month, our Board of Education will be reviewing the information provided to us by several stakeholders.  It will also include the data from our recent safety assessment provided by the Kentucky Center for School Safety.  Our Board of Education and staff continue to seek additional ways to meet the needs of all students while providing a safe and secure environment.

As you can see below, April will be quite busy.  Please take note of the many events taking place.

  • April 2-6            Spring Break

  • April 11-16            5th Grade Washington, DC trip

  • April 16:                Board of Education Meeting @ 6:00 in library

  • April 22                 Spring Band Concert @2:30 in Gym 1

  • April 23, 24, 26     Senior Exit Project Presentations

  • April 23                 STAR Testing begins (2 week window)

  • April 27:                Jr./Sr. High Prom

In closing, I would like to thank you for choosing Williamstown Independent as your choice to educate your children. We continue to work diligently to provide the best education for every student and reaching our vision of Preparing Students for Productive Citizenship.

Have a wonderful Spring Break!

With Demon Pride,

Misty Middleton
