Northern Kentucky Resiliency Poll Information

September 17-October 12, 2018: all students in grades 3 - 12 will be participating in a brief, unique assessment.

This assessment will provide school and district leaders with important data outside of standard measures, such as credits earned, GPA and test scores, which can inform our school’s programming and initiatives to help ensure success for every student in the future. Your student’s individual score will not be shared beyond our school district.

If you DO NOT wish to have your student participate in the Northern Kentucky Resiliency Poll, you must print, sign and return the form (link to form provided in the link below) indicating your refusal to grant permission for your student to participate. The form must be returned to the school by September 18, 2018.

Important Safety Announcement - Threat Investigation

Schools across the nation have been subjected to threats of violence in the past year. Since January, there have been over 300 threats in Kentucky schools alone. In the spirit of opened communication and transparency, I would like to make you aware of an alleged verbal threat.

Immediately upon hearing of this threat, an investigation was launched with the help of the Williamstown Police Department. There is no reason to believe any children or staff members are in danger, but we will have additional security on campus next week.

Student safety is the #1 priority for Williamstown Independent Schools. We do not take this lightly and work diligently to make our campus safe.

Please talk with your child about the serious consequences they will face if they say something or write something that can be perceived as a threat.

In addition, it is imperative that if your child sees something or hears something, they tell an adult in the building.

Thank you for your help and your support.

Sincerely,

Misty Middleton
Superintendent
Williamstown Independent Schools
