I was raised in Northern Kentucky for most of my life. I am a 2000 graduate of Dixie Heights High School. Four years later, I graduated from Valparaiso University (in Northern Indiana) with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Reading Endorsement. In 2007, I finished my Masters in Gifted and Talented Education at NKU. I also finished my Rank 1 in Curriculum and Teaching at NKU in 2015.
I was fortunate enough to be offered a first grade position at Williamstown right after graduating from Valparaiso. I have been here ever since. This will be my 14th year teaching first grade at Williamstown! While I'm not a Williamstown native and I do not live here, I feel like Williamstown has become my second home. The parents' support, students' desire to learn, and colleagues I work with are incredible. I feel blessed to be working in such an amazing community!
I am married to my high school sweetheart and am a mother of a nutty, loving 4-year-old boy and a crazy, sweet 8-month-old girl. I grew up as the oldest of three children. We love going on family vacations together. When I'm not teaching or spending time with my family and friends, I really enjoy being active. I love to run. I ran the Chicago Marathon in college and the Flying Pig Marathon in 2010. I also enjoy working out, playing volleyball, taking pictures, and scrapbooking.
